Anoop Appannagari, MD was raised in Valparaiso, Indiana. He received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in 2009, graduating cum laude. He completed his internship and residency at University of Chicago Medical Center in 2012, where he was inducted into the alpha omega alpha (AOA) honor society. He then completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in 2016. Dr. Appannagari then went to New York to complete a one year fellowship in advanced endoscopy at Sony Brook University Hospital, where he became proficient in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and other advanced endoscopic procedures. He has authored numerous first-author publications and has given multiple poster and oral presentations at national conferences. Dr. Appannagari is skilled in all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology. He has a particular interest in pancreatic and biliary disease, colon cancer, and Barrett’s esophagus.
Dr. Appannagari sees patients in Munster, Hammond, Whiting, and East Chicago.
